- Though I have many interests, writing speculative fiction is my current focus. Until recently, I spent most of my creative energy doing artwork. I also love being out in the natural world. With my husband, I manage several preserves of wild Florida habitat.
The Environment, Preserves
I live on an 80 acre preserve in south-central Florida (Glades County). My husband and I bought this property from an international environmental organization that was seeking someone to care for it. We also manage another preserve (120 acres) a few miles away, which is owned by a non-profit we formed. Both preserves are about as close to pristine as you'll find in Florida. They are heavily wooded with oak hammocks and cypress sloughs, good habitat for lots of wildlife. You can read more about them at http://www.floraglades.org/.
