"The Melting of 92A" is now online at Aurora Wolf Literary Journal of Science Fiction and Fantasy. This tale is science fiction, suitable for a wide audience, including younger readers. I believe it will be coming out in the magazine's print anthology sometime this fall.
My digital artwork "Generation" is now in a state-wide show at the Alliance for the Arts in Ft. Myers, Florida (through August 6). I love using images of water in my work. This piece uses photos of my swamp, areas where the soil meets the water, which is reflecting the sky. I've incorporated drawings and other elements to create a representation of the process of life generating life. Several studies suggest we may not have evolved in the ocean afterall. There's reason to believe life may have begun instead in warm, freshwater ponds (ScienceNews). You can see "Generation" by following on the link above for my artwork page, or click here and scroll down (click the image to enlarge it).

New story available in April
"With Gleaming Blades" will appear in the April issue of 10Flash Quarterly. It sprang from a joke I made, kidding around with someone who loves swords. All stories in the April issue are written around this prompt--Not with that, you don't! This one is fantasy.

Another story accepted
"A Fair Exchange" will appear in the April 2011 issue of Bards and Sages Quarterly. Again, I've taken on an alien point of view. I like the fact that we are almost entirely empty space, with no real boundary between ourselves and the world "outside." I wanted to write about the ability to arrange one's molecules, aligning them to allow passage through structures. It was a short jump after that to adding shape-shifting skills.

Recent publications
I've written a novel (science fiction), which I've revised several times. I'm preparing now for another round of marketing. Meanwhile, over the past four months or so, I've been writing short stories. I love it!
I've had non-fiction accepted in the past and, recently, I sold a fiction piece, "Grocery Games," to Daily Science Fiction. It will appear on their email list Thurs, Dec. 16 and then on their website a week later. It's a flash piece from an alien point of view.
I've also had a story accepted by Short-Story.Me! "A Path to Amazonia" is longer than "Grocery Games," a fantasy piece with lots of descriptive detail. I've been to the Amazon, and my experiences there inspired this tale. It will be published in the next few months.
I'm working on a supernatural horror story now. Fun to write, but tricky.
